Who I Am

PAUL SCALONE .

I was born and raised in San Diego - America's Finest City. I’m a father, son, brother, & aficionado of the culinary arts, cocktail culture, cars, and old-school conversation. I am also a licensed insurance and real estate agent dedicated to representing those in San Diego looking to procure and protect their most precious assets.

In an age of fast fashion, big box stores, and large corporations, I dedicate the time and effort to curate a handcrafted and meaningful experience. I apply these core values to all areas of life, whether that means enjoying a glass of fine scotch with friends or carving out time with my daughter as she navigates high school. Experiences such as these cannot be rushed, only developed over time with patience and dedication.

Procuring, selling, or protecting your home, family, and lifestyle should be no different. This is where I come in. Let's face it - trusting someone to represent you in purchasing, selling, or protecting a high-value asset such as a home is of the utmost importance. Life happens fast, and accidents, natural disasters, and curveballs are part of it. My calling is to help you protect the things you value so you can focus on those deeper and meaningful experiences.

So where do we go from here?

So where do we go from here, why should you give me the opportunity to build trust with you when there are so many real estate and insurance options to choose from? All great questions right? I can tell you this, there is nobody else like me in this space – period. I was born and raised in this beautiful city and from my first summer job building swimming pools, to my time as a regional director for multiple healthcare companies here in San Diego, it’s safe to say I know this city like the back of my hand.

I love my city; I truly believe in my heart that there is no finer city in America than San Diego. Sure, there are bigger cities, older cities, cities with more soul, but none are as fine as San Diego. That's all well and good, knowing San Diego and being passionate about the city I grew up in, but it takes more than that to be successful and to build trust.

All these reasons evoke emotion, which is good, but I am fully aware that we need a balance of emotion and fact when it comes to building trust, especially with something as important as the procurement, sale or protection of an asset like a home.

As I mentioned, I have an extensive background in Healthcare Management – 15 years to be exact. The companies I worked for ran the gamut from small startups to my last position being with the 3rd largest hospice provider in the United States. Conveying these facts to you is an important matter, as it further differentiates me from other people in this space. Through my 15 years in healthcare, I developed a set of professional skills that the general population lacks, skills in project management, negotiation, product launches, systems implementation. I learned operations and process flow, contract review, recruitment, the list goes on.

When working as the Manager of supply chain services for one of the largest independent medical groups in San Diego, it was my responsibility to negotiate our service and supply contracts, so naturally I found myself negotiating with global pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer, Merck, or large office distributors like Staples and Office Depot frequently pitting them against each other to ensure I am getting the best product at the best price for our organization. During my startup years, I learned how to launch remote service branches with nothing more than a laptop and a desk, booking hotel conference rooms to conduct employee interviews and new hire training. I learned how to be resourceful, creative, and nimble.  These are the reasons I say there is nobody else like me in this business, period.

I entered this specific industry to help families see the San Diego that I see. The City you can raise a family in, the city you can head to the beach in the morning, grab brunch on the Embarcadero, hike the mountains that same afternoon and still be home in time for a dinner party with friends before night fall – that’s the city I want others to experience and to love. There is no better way to give people the opportunity for that experience than by procuring them their own little piece of San Diego, while at the same time ensuring their lifestyle is protected, so if life ever throws them curveballs, and it will, they can shrug it off and keep enjoying life, ensuring that instant isn't something that steals their ability to enjoy the beautiful landscape which is San Diego. That's why I’m here, that's why I do what I do, and that's why you should call Paul Scalone.
